Product & Delivery Updates
May 12, 2023: Price Increase
FoodShare produce box and delivery fees are set to increase as of June 2, 2023.
Our operations at FoodShare have been impacted by inflation and the associated rise in the cost of food, and we would never want to sacrifice quality or hinder our team's ability to deliver fresh, delicious produce to doorsteps just like yours all across Toronto.
Given our status as a non-profit organization operating a social enterprise where proceeds support food justice work, we are unfortunately in a position where increasing our pricing is required.
Be assured that in operating our social enterprise, we are not looking to profit in ways that benefit shareholders or anyone other than the communities we work alongside, and that we are committed to keeping pricing as affordable to our subscribers as possible. Our delivery fees remain lower than other grocery delivery services.
We're grateful you choose to buy from FoodShare. By subscribing, you help us:
- Pay living wages to our team and provide benefits, including sick leave
- Buy our products at fair prices to our suppliers, many of whom are local and diverse farmers and entrepreneurs
- Action important and urgent support to communities, including our COVID-19 response, The Emergency Good Food Box, which delivered over a million pounds of fruit and vegetables to more than 80,000 households in 2020 alone

*We will be discontinuing the Wellness Box and replacing it with a small staple vegetable-only produce box that will include essentials like carrots, potatoes, onions, and a leafy green.
For those of you who can stick with us as subscribers, we are so grateful for your continued support. And if not, we understand. We're acutely aware of the lean times we are living through and the difficulty so many of us are having putting food on the table.

February 24, 2022: Bread Update
Due to supply chain issues, Mabel’s will no longer be able to supply bread for the Good Food Box shop.
The good news is, Spent Goods is back! After a brief hiatus due to production location issues in 2021, Spent Goods has returned with some new products in the Good Food Box shop. All new bread products are 100% vegan and made in Toronto using 'spent grains'.
For customers with existing bread orders:
Your regular bread will automatically be replaced with the new Sesame Sourdough. The usual Mabel’s price will be honoured for the March 25th order cut-off (following week's delivery) only. Going forward, if you have a regular bread subscription you will be charged the new product price (please refer to product page for new prices).
If you would like to change or cancel your subscription, please do so by Thursday at 11:59pm. You can find detailed instructions on how to manage your subscription here.
Please note: you do not need to manually change this week’s order to the new bread product. Doing so will result in you being charged the new bread price rather than having the original price honoured.
Should you have any questions please contact onlineorders@foodshare.net.
February 17, 2022: Price Increase
Prices for Good Food Boxes in our online shop will increase as of March 1, 2022.
The decision to raise prices was not made lightly. Our operations at FoodShare have been impacted by challenges to the supply chain and rising food prices, and we never want to sacrifice quality or hinder our team’s ability to deliver fresh, delicious produce to doorsteps just like yours all across Toronto.
While we run a social enterprise, we are committed to keeping pricing as affordable to our community as possible (listen to FoodShare’s Executive Director Paul Taylor explain how and why here) and to lowering prices for the Good Food Box should food prices come down.
We’re grateful you choose to buy from FoodShare. By subscribing you help us to:
- Pay fair wages to our team and provide benefits including permanent sick leave.
- Pay fair prices to our suppliers, many of whom are local farmers.
- Direct surplus to fund important food justice work in the community.
November 30, 2021: Holiday Delivery Schedule
FoodShare warehouse & delivery staff will be off from December 25th to 27th, as well as on January 1st.
Due to statutory holidays on December 25th and January 1st, all customers who normally receive their box on Saturday will receive it on Friday, December 24th and Friday, December 31st for those two weeks respectively.
July 8, 2021: Spent Goods Update
We recently received some unfortunate news from our long-standing partner Spent Goods. Their bakery partner, The Drake Commissary, has suspended their wholesale bakery program.
This means that Spent Goods products will be temporarily unavailable to our Good Food Box subscribers. That includes the Beer Bread Sourdough, Multigrain Loaf and Butter Crackers. You can read the full update from Spent Goods here.
For orders to be delivered July 14th and onwards:
Beer Bread Sourdough: your order will be substituted with Mabel’s sourdough and you will be refunded the difference in price ($0.80 + HST) within ten days.
Multigrain Loaf: your order will be substituted with a spelt loaf from Mabel’s, and you will be refunded the difference in price ($0.20 + HST) within ten days.
Butter Crackers: you will not receive the product and you will be 100% refunded ($4.42 + HST).
Going forward, if you no longer wish to receive the substituted product, please update your subscription accordingly by logging into your account here. You can also contact onlineorders@foodshare.net for assistance with updating your subscription.
